GSE in roof system on a clay tile roof

A GSE in roof array set into clay tiles on an oak framed cartlodge, rather than mounted on rails above them.

An oak framed cartlodge with a log store, a GSE in roof array set into its clay tile roof, and the company van on the gravel drive.

GSE is an in roof tray system. The panels drop into trays that take the place of the covering across their footprint, so the array finishes in the plane of the roof and the clay tiles close back around it.

Where there is a garage, a cartlodge or a barn with a decent aspect, it is frequently a better site for an array than the house itself. The roof is lower, the access is simpler, and the array is less visible from the road.

The run back to the house needs planning and pricing properly, and that is usually the deciding factor rather than the roof.
