Ramsgate has two very different kinds of roof. The Georgian and Regency houses on the cliffs and around the harbour often have their roofs hidden behind a parapet, in the M shaped valley the period is known for. Can panels go on a roof you cannot see from the road?
Yes, and on a Regency terrace that is usually the whole plan. Panels in the valley behind the parapet get sun and stay out of sight.
My house is listed. Is solar out of the question?
Not out of the question, but it needs listed building consent before anything else, and the design has to respect the building. It is slower and it is not always approved. Worth a conversation before spending money on a survey.
Is a battery worth it on a smaller roof?
It depends on when you use power. A smaller array with a battery can put more of its generation to use than a bigger array without one. The survey works it through with your actual usage.
