In-roof array on a new tile roof
An integrated array set into a new Marley concrete tile roof, so the panels sit flush with the tiles instead of standing off them.
The array sits level with the roof rather than on rails above it.
On a new roof or a re-roof, an in-roof system is worth considering because the tiles are coming off anyway. The panels replace the covering where they sit, so the array finishes level with the roof. From the ground it looks much neater than a standard mounted array.
The trade-off is that it has to be right first time. The flashing and weathering around the array is the part that matters, and it's done as the roof goes on rather than afterwards.
This one is a new Marley concrete tile roof, with the array set in as the tiles were laid.
